Welcome to The Central Otago Hydeaway Limited
(formerly The Old Hyde Hotel, est. 1927)
We are proud to be restoring the iconic Old Hyde Hotel into a vibrant café and boutique accommodation destination. Nestled on one acre of land with significant development potential, our vision is to revive the legacy of this historic building for both the local community and visiting guests.
The restoration is being undertaken in carefully planned stages, with our initial focus on the exterior works — roofing, windows, and plastering — to preserve the character and heritage of the hotel, proudly supported by the Dunedin Heritage Fund.  Looking ahead, we have an exciting pipeline of future enhancements that will further breathe life back into this landmark.
Our café offers homely, nutritious fare, paired with freshly roasted coffee, and we offer a fully licensed beverage selection and prebooking for delicious set meals for Groups in our signature lounge. The Spa has a dedicated massage therapist who provides therapy for your aching joints and muscles.
The Central Otago Hydeaway combines heritage charm with warm hospitality, creating a welcoming space for all who pass through.

Check-in starts from 2pm and check-out is at 10am latest. Early check-in or late check-out may be available upon request.

Yes, both of those are included with the room - if you are wanting lunch that can be provided by the Café. 

Yes, complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the property.

We don't allow pets inside but they can be outside if you visiting the cafe and they are secured.

Yes, free parking is available on site

We recommend booking early, especially during weekends and holiday periods, as our boutique rooms are limited.
